Brainwashing Through William Branham's Sermons

Dr. Steven Hassan’s book, Combatting Cult Mind Control, is one of the most helpful tools for not only deprogramming from cult indoctrination and manipulation of thought, but also for rescuing friends and loved ones who fall victim to a destructive cult such as William Branham’s “Message” and many splinter groups. In the book, Hassan outlines the various techniques that these groups use to recruit, indoctrinate, and control their victims.

Escapees from William Branham’s “Message” cult following are often surprised at how many of these techniques were used by Branham and other cult leaders. Interestingly, Branham’s sermons are also the subject of study for psychologists interested in learning about brainwashing and mind control techniques. The University of St. Petersburg, for example, studied Branham’s sermons and found several instances of Branham using techniques of neuro-linguistic programming. As a result, several of Branham’s sermons are banned in some countries.
