Rev. William Marrion Branham was first ordained a Baptist minister in 1932, at the age of 23 years. During his lifetime, his ministry had a great influence on the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements. William Branham is considered the founder of the post World War II faith healing movement. Many preachers then followed, including two of the most influential faith healers in the world known as Dr. T.L. Osborn and the late Oral Roberts which were both inspired by his revival that swept the country after World War II. Most churches gladly welcomed his signs and wonders, but most of his doctrine and teachings were rejected. He divinely worked a special gift of discernment which enabled him to know the secrets of the heart of the people who came to his meetings for healing. After a successful life of service to God and Spirit vindicated ministry, on December 24th 1965, God called his servant home. His death being the result of a car accident, he died at 56 at the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

We hear from people who knew him that Bro. Bill Branham was a man full of humor, sympathy and humility. Billy Paul, his first born, was all that was left of William Branham after the passing of his first wife "Amelia Hope Brumback" and his daughter Sharon Rose during the flooding of Ohio from 1937. A young neighbor named "Meda Marie Broy" aided Hope in her housework and care of children during the years prior to her death. It was such a comfort to Brother Branham, suffering his terrible loss, to know that young Billy Paul was in the capable and loving hands of a trusted friend, this young girl named Meda Broy, eighteen years then, who willingly continued to care for the child. A little later..., "Meda, you're a fine girl, but I don't think I could ever marry again because I loved Hope so much. Why don't you find you a boyfriend. Let us not see each other. You deserve a good husband."
This young girl was saddened, turned to God and prayed... She found a Bible scripture: Malachi 4:5, which comforted her. The young preacher also heard a voice speaking directly to him, "You go get that Meda Broy and you marry her on October 23rd." Meda Broy was 22 and him 32 when both where married on October 23rd 1941. Later on God blessed their home with three wonderful children, Joseph, Sarah and Rebecca Branham. Born on April 26th 1919, in Clark, IN, the mother died in 1981, Clark, IN.
